This is personalized coaching for climbers who want to improve with purpose. Your plan is built around your climbing background, schedule, strengths, limitations, and long-term goals, so every session has a reason behind it.


No two climbers need the same plan. A boulderer working on power has different needs than a sport climber building endurance, and a newer climber needs different support than someone chasing harder grades outdoors.

Ascend creates a rock climbing training program around where you are now and where you want to go next. We look at your training history, climbing access, movement patterns, recovery needs, and lifestyle demands so your plan supports real progress without forcing training into a rigid template.

What Your Climbing Coaching Program Includes

Our coaching combines structured programming with ongoing support, feedback, and adjustment. The goal is not just to give you workouts. The goal is to help you understand how to train, why each piece matters, and how to keep improving over time.

  • Your climbing training plan gives you clear sessions, focused goals, and weekly direction. Instead of guessing what to do at the gym, you’ll know how each workout supports your climbing.

    Your program may include climbing-specific sessions, strength work, mobility, endurance, recovery, and technique-focused assignments based on your needs.

  • Strength training for climbers should support performance on the wall, not compete with it. We use targeted strength work to build pulling strength, core tension, shoulder stability, posterior chain strength, and overall resilience.

    This helps you move better, hold positions longer, and reduce the risk of common overuse issues caused by only climbing and never training the supporting systems.

  • Better climbing is not just about being stronger. It is also about moving with more control, awareness, and efficiency.

    Through movement training for climbing, video feedback, and technical guidance, we help you improve footwork, body positioning, route reading, pacing, and decision-making. This is especially valuable for indoor climbers who want their gym sessions to become more intentional and productive.

  • Depending on your goals, your program may focus on climbing endurance training, power endurance, maximal strength, or recovery between hard efforts.

    For sport climbers, that may mean better pacing and sustained output. For boulderers, it may mean stronger attempts, better session structure, and more effective rest. Your plan is built around the type of climbing you actually care about.

  • Finger and grip strength matter, but they need to be trained carefully. Ascend helps you approach climbing finger strength training with structure, progression, and safety.

    Rather than adding random hangboard sessions or grip work, we build finger training into your overall plan when it fits your level, goals, and recovery capacity.

  • Climbing is physical, technical, and mental. Your coaching can include support around fear, confidence, projecting, pressure, consistency, and staying focused during hard climbs.

    Mental training for climbers helps you build a better relationship with challenge so you can perform with more confidence and less hesitation.
